Researchers from Rutgers University are inviting parents to share their story about being estranged/distanced from their children. The purpose of this study is to understand your story, the obstacles you face, and ways you have responded to associated difficulties. This research could help other people better understand and make sense of their difficult family relationships.

 

To participate in the present study, individuals must meet the following criteria: (1) are at least 18 years old, (2) feel comfortable reading and writing in English, and (3) is a parent to at least one child who has voluntarily and intentionally distanced themselves from the parent because of a perceived negative relationship (i.e., estranged).

 

If you choose to participate, you will be asked to take a short demographic questionnaire and share your experience via survey (approximately 30 minutes). 

 

There is no compensation for participating in this study.
